Another Week In

Ryan has survived another week at school. He had a late meeting on Wednesday, so that wore him out a little bit. Otherwise, the week went well. He had a doctor's appointment last night - he got a lumbar puncture, a bone marrow biopsy, and a push of another chemo drug. He seemed to do well, he is still sleeping this morning. He did not get sick, that's always a good thing. He thought he would feel ok today, was a little tired last night.

Aubrey continues to do well, she's toddling around pretty quickly these days. She loves going to the baby-sitter's and playing with the other kids, but is always happy to see me when I come to pick her up. I'm glad we have a great baby-sitter, it makes it easier for me to go to work everyday, which has been busy lately.

Here's a picture of Aubrey after eating 2 of my grandma's tomatoes - right from the vine.

We appreciate all of you who still keep us in your prayers.

  1. Thanks so much for your continued updates. We really do look forward to hear how well your guys are doing. The pictures of Aubrey are so darn cute! We will always be praying for all of you. For so many people the "norm" gets boring for them, but after reading your updates, you remind us to always be so very thankful for the normal way of life! We hope that things continue to improve in Ryan's health -- only good news -- and that your life gets closer and closer back to "normal".

Praise the Lord for your guys' continued strength through all of this. May God keep guiding you and blessing you all.

So sad to hear that we somehow missed seeing you at the GREAT Darke County Fair!! Glad to hear that you guys had a good time, hopefully we'll see you guys sometime soon.

Take Care and you are in our prayers,
Alan, Vickie, Simon and Eli Dirksen

  2. Hi Guys,

Glad to hear things are getting closer to normal, and that Ryan has been able to get back to school. We are still watching for your updates and pray for Ryan's full and complete healing everyday. We pray through the 91st Psalm for you guys by name as well. Know that we are still thinking of and praying for you all...
