Painting, Sanding, & Replacing Lights

Last week I signed the contract for the new house. It isn't ours yet, we've set a tentative closing for May 31. We are still waiting on the closing with Russell, we don't have a specific date for that yet, but once that it finalized, then we'll be able to have a date for the closing on my house. The owner of the house I'm buying is being so very patient and understanding about this whole process. He is even allowing me to go into the house and begin getting it ready to move in. When we do finally get to close, I will hopefully have the house ready.

We are doing some painting in the kitchen and the half bathroom, and maybe in the room that will be Aubrey's - we haven't decided on that one for sure yet.

I'm having dad replace lights and ceiling fans, and eventually the dishwasher and the sink/mirror in the half bathroom. We are getting new flooring throughout the hallways, kitchen, and half bathroom and new countertops in the kitchen. I'm getting very excited about the new house!

Aubrey is ready to move her swingset there, but I don't think we're quite ready for that yet!

We are praying that the closing with Russell will happen soon.

  1. Steve is a gem! We sure like him, and I knew he would be good to you. He's a class act. Glad things are moving along and you're able to make some of your changes before moving in.

    Welcome to the neighborhood :)

  2. Good to hear things are moving forward with you. We entered your territory of sick toddler coughing all night long Friday night...(and all nights since), and went home with our own breathing treatment machine yesterday. Gareth's is shaped like a fire truck. He loved it--until we tried to make him use it at 12:15 am when he woke up in a coughing fit. And they say some parents can put these on their children in their sleep and they never wake up?!?! What am I missing here?

  5. Interior designing of the kitchen countertops. Being able to choose different granite shades makes it easier to pattern or tailor with the overall color motif of the home.
